The Making Strides season kicked off earlier than usual this year with the inaugural SL Renaissance Festival.

Aside from the jousting, melees, classes on how to improve your role playing – and of course shopping – one of the features of the event is the Tale of Heroes area where breast cancer survivors, caregivers and others who have been touched by cancer were invited to decorate a booth and share their stories.

I also had the role of filling in the mission information on behalf of Hope Haven so that all of those visiting the Festival could better understand all of the ways their money goes to help so many.

There are still a few days left, so I encourage you to visit. You can find out more details as well as the upcoming schedule of events by visiting https://slrenaissancefestival.com/.

And while there, please check out my personal booth. I shared my breast cancer story of being my grandmother’s caregiver while she recovered from a mastectomy following her breast cancer diagnosis. There are kiosks set up at all of the booths for visitors to “vote” for their favorites.
